Letter of Condolence

Reverend Primate
Archbishop of Canterbury
Justin Welby

Dear Archbishop Justin Welby,

It is with sorrow that we acknowledge the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, the Supreme Governor of the Church of England. On behalf of the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church Worldwide, I express our deepest condolences.

Over the past 70 years, Her Majesty has been dedicated to the service of your country and the Commonwealth, demonstrating an enormous sense of duty and commitment, Her life changed the world, her faithful servant’s heart inspired us all. An example to all, she welcomed people of all faiths, or none, as she treated each person with dignity and respect.

Her praises will be sung throughout history, because of her deeply lived faith in Jesus Christ, we believe her own song continues in His Kingdom of eternal life. May you be strengthened as you comfort those who mourn and give thanks for a life that brought countless blessings to your country and the Commonwealth, the Church of England, and, indeed, the world.

Our thoughts and prayers are very much with the Royal Family at this time, as the country comes together to pay tribute and remember Queen Elizabeth II. His peace be with you all.

Yours in Christ,
Lauma Zusevics
Archbishop
Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church Worldwide
